NVIDIA Partners with Digital Realty Trust on LEED Platinum Data Center
"The Nvidia facility is only the second active data center in the US to be awarded the LEED Platinum certification and is in the league with the American College testing facility in Iowa.”Learn More
Performance Increases Equal Energy Savings for Bloomberg
From Wall Street + Technology: "Overall, we've achieved an 800% performance increase," Edwards says. "What used to take sixteen hours we're computing in two hours." The GPUs are high speed, running double-precision mathematics at 16 teraflops. And the firm is a little greener now — the server/GPU pairs consume one-third of the energy 1,000 servers would have required and less data center space is occupied”.Learn More
Graphics Chips Speed Up Medical Imaging
A study last year by University of Pittsburgh researchers found that an Nvidia GPU produced much speedier computerized-tomography images of lung cancer than was possible with a CPU. As a result, the researchers concluded, "the benefit of using GPUs' processing power can be widely appreciated in medical image devices and diagnosis." San Jose Mercury News.Learn More
NVIDIA Powers Advances in Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Improved detection and early treatment equals higher rate of success of survival. As well, being able to more quickly review and diagnose data in the medical office decreases wait times, patient anxiety and insurance costs. Learn more about advances in Whole breast ultrasound, mammography displays, 3D imaging using low power electromagnetic waves, and Digital breast tomosynthesis.
The Role of Visual and High Performance Computing in Scientific Innovation
Visual and high performance computing, driven by NVIDIA® GPUs, is testing the boundaries of science and medicine. Scientists and researchers are intrigued and challenged by the potential advances at their fingertips, such as accelerated diagnoses, increased precision and prediction, and virtual environments in which patients can speed their own wellness.Learn More
Technology That Can Save Your Life
From Rob Enderle, TechNewsWorld: "Nvidia is using its CUDA developer platform to dramatically lower the cost of imaging equipment -- the kind of equipment that's used to find oil, or do medical or scientific research. Because it will be vastly more affordable, there is a very real chance of this equipment producing results that could eventually save your life. Now, that is truly making a difference."Learn More
Dramatically Accelerating the Search For a Cure
Stanford University's Folding@home program has become a major force in researching cures to life-threatening diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, and some cancers by combining the computing horsepower of millions of individual processors to simulate protein folding. By running the Folding@home client on an NVIDIA GeForce® GPU, protein-folding simulations can be done 140 times faster than on some of today's traditional CPUs.Learn More
