In 2016, 90 percent of our offices held volunteer or fundraising events, and employees donated nearly $400,000 and more than 17,000 volunteer hours. These efforts amplified the impact of the company’s contributions, which totaled nearly $2.6 million in cash and in-kind donations.

Our Fight Against Cancer

NVIDIA Foundation grants and employee fundraising efforts yielded more than $850,000 in 2016 for the fight against cancer through our Compute the Cure initiative.

TWO $200,000 Cancer Research Grants

Provided to Translational Genomics Research Institute for research to discover individualized therapeutic vulnerability in cancer, which could lead to more precise therapies; and to a team from the University of North Texas working to discover new cancer biomarkers, which could improve diagnostics and treatment of the disease. Four $50,000 Cancer CARE Grants

Awarded to nonprofits providing patient care and support services. Grants are being used to provide:

  • No-cost treatment for cancer patients in Kenya
  • A pediatric music therapy program in Minnesota
  • A palliative care program for the poor in India
  • The worldwide #KnowYourLemons breast-cancer prevention campaign

Our Efforts in Education

NVIDIA held a variety of activities around the globe in 2016 to provide K-12 students with the tools they need to succeed. The company donated more than $1.6 million and 14,600 volunteer hours to these education-related efforts, which reached more than 89,000 children.
