HOW WE'RE MAKING A DIFFERENCE

In FY18, 65 percent of our offices held volunteer or fundraising events, and employees donated more than $1 million and more than 9,000 volunteer hours. These efforts amplified the company’s contributions, which totaled more than $3 million in cash and in-kind donations.

NVIDIA Foundation grants and employee fundraising efforts yielded more than $1,300,000 in FY18 for the fight against cancer through our Compute the Cure initiative.

Through Various Education-Related Efforts in FY18

OUR EFFORTS IN EDUCATION

The NVIDIA Foundation’s education initiatives provide K-12 students the tools and skills they need to succeed. In FY18, the company and our employees donated more than $2 million and 6,200 volunteer hours to these education-related efforts and reached more than 72,000 children.

COMPUTE THE CURE

NVIDIANS RAISED $500,000+

For cancer-focused organizations through a variety of office fundraising efforts.

Two $200,000 Cancer Research Grants Awarded

  • San Diego’s Ludwig Cancer Research Institute for work to use high performance computing and GPU-accelerated deep learning to better understand the most potent “driver” genes and their role in cancer.
  • A team from the University of Toronto working to predict cancer evolution through deep learning and DNA-sequencing data.

Four $50,000 Cancer Care Grants Awarded

  • Support to children with cancer and their families in Central California.
  • A pediatric art therapy program at two San Francisco Bay Area hospitals.
  • No-cost treatment for underserved patients with eye cancer in India.
  • An awareness and screening program for low-income women in India and Nepal.

EDUCATION INITIATIVES

To introduce underserved students to artificial intelligence through hands-on activities. Through NVIDIA-hosted student events and teacher trainings, and donations of Techsplorer activity kits, we reached 2,400 students in FY18.

Supported Youth Robotics

through financial and in-kind donations to an international youth robotics organization.

Revamped Education Facilities

through Project Inspire events held by our offices in Austin, Bangalore, Beaverton, Berlin, Bristol, Cambridge, Courbevoie, Durham, Hsinchu, Pune, Reading, Taipei, Westford, and Würselen.

Donated 2,000 Backpacks and
10,000 Books

through office fundraising and volunteer efforts.
