Persis S. Drell ist Professorin für Materials Science and Engineering und Professorin für Physik an der Stanford University. Dr. Drell ist seit 2002 an der Fakultät in Stanford tätig. Von 2014 bis 2017 war sie Dean der Stanford School of Engineering und von 2017 bis 2023 Provost von Stanford. Außerdem war sie von 2007 bis 2012 Director of SLAC. Dr. Drell ist Mitglied der National Academy of Sciences und der American Academy of Arts and Sciences sowie Fellow der American Physical Society und Fellow der American Association for the Advancement of Science. Sie erhielt eine Guggenheim Fellowship sowie einen National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator Award. Dr. Drell hat einen Ph.D.-Abschluss der University of California Berkeley und einen AB-Abschluss in Mathematik und Physik des Wellesley College. Seit 2015 ist sie Mitglied des NVIDIA-Vorstands.
