Time Off, Holidays, and Leaves of Absence

We work hard at NVIDIA, but everyone needs to take time off every once in a while. Because everyone's needs are different, our time off benefits are flexible. You decide when you want time off, work it out with your manager, and take the time you need.

Overall, our approach remains that you should decide when to take a break to relax, enjoy life, or attend to personal needs. You should work out the specifics with your manager. Hourly employees will accrue 15 days of PTO per year. Salaried employees don't accrue paid time off and should work with their manager to arrange for time away.

Interns do not receive PTO and can work with their managers regarding unpaid time away.

Employees have up to ten paid business days to grieve for an immediate family member.

Employees can take as much time as required to perform their civic responsibilities to serve as a juror or witness.

Employees will receive 80 hours of paid sick leave per calendar year.

Leave of Absence

Initiating a leave of absence

If you’re considering requesting a leave of absence, here are the steps you should take:

  • Start with Veer: Use Veer (https://nvidia.getveer.com) to plan your leave, including a personalized timeline and helpful checklist.
  • Talk to your manager: Share your Veer timeline with your manager.

  • File your leave request: Submit your leave request to Lincoln Financial (company code: NVIDIA) or SSO Link, or call a Lincoln Financial Leave Specialist at 1-888-594-0237.

If you need to take time off to care for a family member, you may request a Family Care Leave.

If you’re unable to work due to your own serious health condition, you may request a Medical Leave, which includes disability pay to support you so that you can focus on recovering.

If you need to take time off for your military obligations, you may request a Military Leave.

Our Parental Leave program provides new parents who have a new child through birth, adoption, foster care or surrogacy with time off to bond with their new child.

If you’re not covered by any other protected leave, you may request an unpaid, Personal Leave.
